, IS A REMARKABLE ARTIFACT FROM A TURBULENT TIME.
THE SEAL HAS HEBREW LETTERED RELIEF SCRIPT WITHIN A WREATH ON ONE SIDE, AND A CLASSICAL FIGURAL RELIEF VIGNETTE ON THE OTHER, WITH ONE A MALE FIGURE LEFT WITH HIS ARM ON A CHILD’S SHOULDER, WHO IS, IN TURN, TALKING WITH TWO SEATED FIGURES, TO THE RIGHT. THE CENTRAL SEATED FIGURE HAS A HEAD COVERING AND AN ARM OUTSTRETCHED TO THE CHILD’S OTHER SHOULDER.
THE INGENIOUS GOLD SETTING (PROBABLY LATE 19th CENTURY VICTORIAN) HAS A PIN BACK WITH LATCH CLASP, AND SECURES THE

BY A CENTER PIN WHICH ALLOWS THE WEARER TO SPIN THE
BULLA
TO SHOW EITHER SIDE.

SEAL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH MINOR SURFACE CRACKS THAT DON'T INTERFERE WITH THE COMPOSITIONAL INTEGRITY OF THE SEAL.
THERE IS A SMALL TRIANGULAR DISCOLORATION ON THE LETTERED SID,E WHICH IS FROM THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS COMMON TO MOST BULLA.

IS OVAL IN SHAPE AND MEASURES 22 x 30 MM AND IS MADE OF CLAY.
THE OVAL GOLD SETTING MEASURES 36 x 31 AND CONTAINS GOLD.
